How to run the MCP server locally
For developers and home-lab tinkerers running Claude Desktop, Cursor, Antigravity or Windsurf
Get the server bundle
Download the ready-to-run bundle directly from this page, or clone the full repository:
Extract the zip into a convenient location on your machine (e.g. ~/tools/cor-mcp).
Install Python dependencies
The server requires Python 3.10+ and the official mcp package from Anthropic:
pip install "mcp[cli]"
The database (SQLite)
The pre-indexed cor.db is already included in the zip file.
To test that tools respond correctly:
python test_tools.py
Setup in Claude Desktop
Open your Claude Desktop configuration (go to Settings → Developer → Edit Config or locate claude_desktop_config.json). Add the server entry:
{
"mcpServers": {
"dansk-cor": {
"command": "python",
"args": [
"C:/tools/cor-mcp/server.py"
]
}
}
}
Remember to adjust the path to wherever you unpacked the files. Restart Claude Desktop and you'll see the hammer icon ready with 4 new tools.
Usage in Cursor, Antigravity or other agents
The server communicates via standard I/O (stdio). In Cursor or Antigravity simply configure:
• Type: command / stdio
• Command: python
• Arguments: ["/path/to/cor-mcp/server.py"]
Your AI can now verify Danish spellings, perform dictionary lookup, test Wordle patterns, and look up grammatical genders accurately.
